DNA-Based Storage: Models and Fundamental Limits

چکیده
Due to its longevity and enormous information density, DNA is an attractive medium for archival storage. In this work, we study the fundamental limits trade-offs of DNA-based storage systems by introducing a new channel model, which call noisy shuffling-sampling channel. Motivated current technological constraints on synthesis sequencing, model captures three key distinctive aspects systems: (1) data written onto many short molecules; (2) molecules are corrupted noise during sequencing (3) read randomly sampling from pool. We provide capacity results under specific assumptions show that, in scenarios, simple index-based coding scheme optimal.

Fundamental Limits of Pooled-DNA Sequencing
In this paper, fundamental limits in sequencing of a set of closely related DNA molecules are addressed. This problem is called pooled-DNA sequencing which encompasses many interesting problems such as haplotype phasing, metageomics, and conventional pooled-DNA sequencing in the absence of tagging. From an information theoretic point of view, we have proposed fundamental limits on the number an...
متن کاملUsing Regression based Control Limits and Probability Mixture Models for Monitoring Customer Behavior
In order to achieve the maximum flexibility in adaptation to ever changing customer’s expectations in customer relationship management, appropriate measures of customer behavior should be continually monitored. To this end, control charts adjusted for buyer’s/visitor’s prior intention to repurchase or visit again are suitable means taking into account the heterogeneity across customers. In the ...

متن کاملFundamental Limits and Practical Implementation
This chapter summarizes theoretically achievable gains and the construction of practical codes for user-cooperation. Most of these results relate to the relay channel, which is a three-terminal channel that captures the essence of usercooperation and serves as one of the primary building blocks for cooperation on a larger scale. In investigating the fundamental limits of relaying, we present in...
